Welcome to
Prince Edward County
LSTA of PEC is a Non-Profit, Advocating for the County’s Short-Term Rental Operators
Our Mission
To uphold a high quality accommodation experience, with our homes serving as a window into PEC for thousands of tourists annually.
To be a strong voice for sustainable and thoughtful tourism - allowing local businesses, residents, and the community to flourish.
We will advocate for fair and equitable terms for local accommodators, in collaboration with other community stakeholder groups and County officials.
We aim to have a collective seat at the table when municipal policies are being considered, created, and revised.
Our Impact
In response to the September 2020 moratorium on STA licences, we mobilized as a formal non-profit association. We gathered information for deputations, met with the Mayor and spoke out at council meetings to help shape the current STA Bylaws and preserve our grandfathered licensing status.
Delivered deputations at council to ensure MAT would not be increased beyond 4% in the spring of 2023.
Campaigned to have the STA bylaw amended in September 2023, bringing more family-friendly practices into place with regard to how children under 10 are counted in the capacity allowed in STAs.
Acted as liaisons between our group and national AirBnB representatives, educating AirBnB on some of the nuances of hosting in our area.

Director, Chair
Sheryl was Toronto-based for nearly three decades after growing up on the prairies (and spending as much time as possible at her grandparents cabin on a lake). She discovered PEC in the early 2000s. The open fields, surrounding waters, sunsets and the entrepreneurial vibe of the County kept drawing her back until she finally made PEC her home on a full time basis.
Guiding groups to form an aligned vision, common principles, sound policies and practical processes has always been at the core of Sheryl's work. She spent over 25 yrs working in corporate learning, HR and IT, with a specialization in HR technology.
Sheryl brings a broad business perspective, having worked within many industries across Canada and the USA.
